Happy winter semester from Organic Campus!

Organic Campus has opened its stores once more, providing the McGill and larger Montreal community with local, nutritious and affordable organic vegetables and baked goods. You can find OC in the lobby of SSMU in the Green Corner, 3480 rue McTavish from 12-5:30 PM Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. As of this moment, we are selling an assortment of breads and baked goods, eggs, Macdonald Campus honey, apples and some root vegetables.

Interested in helping run the stand a few hours a week? Drop by SSMU’s Activities Night and come sign up! Activities Night will take place on January 28th, at SSMU from 4:30-8:30PM. Can’t make it to activities night? No problem! Interested volunteers can always come by during OC hours and sign up, or send us an email at organiccampus@gmail.com. Organic Campus is currently in a transition period, so now is the perfect time to participate in this process! We are exploring the potential for Organic Campus to become a food co-op similar to Le Frigo Vert from Concordia (http://www.lefrigovert.com/). OC is looking for a core group of volunteers passionate about local/organic/affordable produce and committed to the realization of this longer term vision. We appreciate your input as students, staff and faculty, and community members as to what you would like OC to look like in the future.

Some friendly reminders:

• Please remember to bring your own bags and containers when purchasing at the stand—this will help us reduce our environmental impact!
• For those who purchase eggs, our farmer Berhanu has asked that the empty egg cartons be brought back to the stand so that we may return them to him for reuse.

Joyeux retour à l’école!

Organic Campus et de retour et offre encore des produits d'alimentation biologiques, locales et abordables pour la communauté de McGill et Montréal. Nous offrons nos services chaque semaine : notre kiosque est ouverte les mardis, mercredis et jeudis de 12h jusqu’à 17:30h au Coin Vert au premier étage de SSMU, 3480 rue McTavish. Nous vendons des pains, des collations, des pommes, quelques légumes, du miel du campus Macdonald, et des œufs.

Si vous êtes intéressés d’être bénévole pour OC, vous pouvez vous inscrire le 28 janvier à “Activities Night” dans SSMU, de 16:30h à 20:30h, ou pendant nos heures d’ouverture à notre kiosque. Les objectifs et structures de notre organisation sont couramment en transition et nous apprécierons beaucoup la participation des bénévoles. À ce moment, nous considérons la possibilité de transformer OC en co-op comme Le Frigo Vert à Concordia (http://www.lefrigovert.com/). Pour réaliser notre objectif d’offrir la nourriture bio, locale et abordable, nous cherchons un groupe de bénévoles qui sont engagés et passionnants. Vos suggestions en tant qu’étudiants, personnels, professeurs, et membres de la communauté McGilloise et Montréalaise seraient très appréciées.

• S.V.P apportez vos propres sacs et contenants—aidez-nous à réduire notre impact environnemental!
• Pour ceux qui achètent les œufs : s.v.p. ramener les contenants! Notre fermier, Berhanu, aimerait les réutiliser.
