With winter settled in and midterms in full force, Organic Campus has you covered with some news updates and cool links for a few minutes of procrastination....

On Monday, February 4th, OC held our first general meeting of the winter semester! Over a delicious meal, we discussed our mandate/goals, current projects and organized a new volunteer schedule. Two following meetings have been created to discuss our mandate and possible transition to a co-operative structure. Interested in becoming part of the process or volunteering? Its never too late to become involved, simply send us an email at organiccampus@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you! A big thank you for all new volunteers who came out and everyone for being so helpful.

Urban Sustainability Workshop at Macdonald Campus
TOMORROW! Saturday Feb 9th, from 10h-15h00
Where: Macdonald Campus, Centennial Centre : the Ceilidh, 21111 Lakeshore Road St Anne de Bellevue H9X 3V9
Come to an all-day workshop with Scott Kellogg of the Radix Ecological Sustainability Center: community-based sustainable solutions. Scott is an experienced teacher, activist, ecological designer, and father. He is currently earning a Masters in Environmental Science from Johns Hopkins University.”

Miscellaneous:

A fellow OC’er has offered to lend her canner (including a rack, funnels and jar holders) to anyone in the community who would like to do some winter canning! Send us an email at organiccampus@gmail.com, letting us know when you’d like to borrow the canner and we’ll get back to you with availabilities! Note: a twenty dollar deposit is necessary to borrow the canner.

Avec l'hiver qui s'installe et avec la mi-session en pleine vigueur, Organic Campus vous donnes quelques minutes de procrastination avec quelques nouvelles et des liens intéressants....

Lundi,  le 4 Février OC a eu sont premier assemblée générale su terme! Avec un repas délicieux, nous avons discuté  notre mandat / objectifs, des projets en cours et nous avons organisé un programme nouveau pour les bénévoles. Deux réunions suivantes ont été créées pour discuter notre mandat et la possibilité de notre transition vers une structure coopérative. Intéressé d’être partie du processus, ou de faire du bénévolat? Il n'est jamais trop tard pour participer! Il suffit de nous envoyer un courriel à organiccampus@gmail.com! Un grand merci pour tous les nouveaux bénévoles qui sont venus et de votre générosité!

Atelier sur la durabilité urbaine au Campus Macdonald

D’autres informations:

Un de nos bénévolats offre de prêter sa marmite (y compris un rack, entonnoirs et les détenteurs pour les pots) à tous ceux dans la communauté qui souhaite faire un peu de mise en conserve cet hiver! Envoyez-nous un courriel à organiccampus@gmail.com, pour nous faire savoir quand vous voulez emprunter la marmite et pour consulter les disponibilités! Remarque: un acompte de vingt dollars est nécessaire pour emprunter la marmite.
